Ricochet Orbit was composed for the 2013 SoundSCAPE festival. My goal was to create a work that was fun to play, would catch the audience's attention, and still remain idiomatic for the instrument. The original version of the piece was composed for Bb clarinet and also fits very well for the soprano sax.
